About louiethehusky

I'm Louie, an overly active husky who lives in a place too hot for a husky! I've been living with my human Bel eversince I was 8 weeks old. No matter what she did, i always follow my own rules and more often than not.

Dog Show, Show Dog

Well, I guess I’m never gonna be an up-to-date blogging husky. But at least I put in effort to blog. This blog was supose to be published last year, but I felt that Tribute to Benson the Husky deserved to be published first. I’m still teary when I read about him. So here is my first blog for 2012.

I’ve been wanting to share my experience with my fellow huskerboos and other furpals out there. I know that not everyone will have the chance to be in my shoes (well I don’t know if the expression applies here since I never ever wear shoes and don’t think I will) for the past few months. I’ve been training for a Dog Show!!!!

One of my first stacking position

I started sometime around July when my breeder, who was also my neighbor and my human’s friend complimented me on my appearance -yes ladies, I’m a handsome, built and anatomically perfect husky ;)- while out on a wlakies. Previous to that, I rarely saw him on my walkies cause we never seem to go out at the same time.

I was then trained by his brother, a young and quite handsome-not as handsome as me- human boy of only 14 years old. His name’s Aldo, and somehow I only responded to him and not my human. I got lots of liver treats (they call it bait) while training.

Aldo fixing my stance. I'm looking proud and ready

I’m good enough for a Dog Show except for my coat. It doesn’t seem to ever get fluffy enough compared to my buddies. I was plagued with a patch behind my ear for a couple months during and after seasonal shedding, and not very attentive in training, so I had to miss my chance at a few shows.

Beside anatomy, the judges will also examine movement and gait

Aldo posing with my buddy Whisper, he's also my competition. He's had a Best in Show title

Whisper on the ring with his owner and handler (who is also a friend of my human) My other buddy Truce. He's also competing and has previously won a Best of Breed title.

Treva my half-sister post grooming. She has a Best in Show title in the bagGrooming is such a crucial part in the Dog Show world

There’s another show in Febuary, and I wish to enter myself in the competition. I don’t think I’ll ever get the Best of Breed titles since my competitors -some of them my buddies- are cool imported Huskies who worth thousands of dollars, I’ll be happy with just a rossette.

Whew… *wipes paw on forehead* That’s a long blog! Hope I didn’t bore any of you anipals!

Benson the Husky

While I was sneaking a couple seconds to check on new tweets from my human’s phone, I came across the most shocking tweet of my life so far – Benson’s passing. It all came so sudden and shocking that my human cried while typing my tweets. So we decided that I will blog about him instead.

Benson was a handsome black and white husky from England. He was only 3 years and 7 months old when he died, a much too young an age for a dog. He was one of the best twitter friend I’ve ever met. You can always count on him to share with you all the funny, sad, educational and encouraging news and tweets. When I first joined twitter, he was one of the first to follow me back, and was the verst furpal ever to mention me back and reply my tweet. He’ll always reply your tweets n make you smile reading it. I know that he loved his zoomies and was a vibrant and mischievious husky who loves to play and run.

My buddy Benson the Husky

My human Bel lost a dog once, a few months before I came to be with her. Her name was Donna and she was a mixed breed. Donna wasn’t really Bel’s dog, but she was nevertheless crushed when Donna died. She recieved the news while she was in the hospital on a night shift duty and had to go to the toilet to cry. It was sad but wasn’t so hard because they knew it was coming. Donna had suffered a breast cancer for about a year, went through a surgery and was suffering from kidney failure for at least a month before passing. And I think that  the abruptness would be so much harder for Benson’s human.

From what I found out from our friend Khumbu (who also lost his brofur a few months back), Benson might suffered from a brain hemorrhage. From my human’s knowledge this condition is such a fast and sudden illness that in human it only causes a very short amount of severe headache before death comes. I hope that Benson did not suffer too much from the condition that caused his death and I pray that he’s happy in Rainbow Bridge now. I also pray for his human to stay srong in this difficult time.

My Very First Post

After a month of deliberation and careful study of the workings of blogging, I’m finally able to do this very important first step. But once I’m here I get a little confused and lost as to what I’m supose to write, so… I rant.

This blogging thing is the very first for both me and my human, so I don’t think that I’m gonna have any specific theme fo my future blogs. In the coming days, months, and hopefully years, I’ll share with all you humans and anipals about the day to day life of an ordinary Husky living in a place where the weather and culture are apparently not too friendly to my kind. And of course my antics…

Oooopppss… I forgot to introduce myself… My name is Louie,  just Louie, but in case of emergency, I can always add a surname, the latest is Pooper (which I hate!!!), but I’ve been known as Louie Sibe, Louie Husky, Louie Dewey, Louie Vuitton… I’m currently 2 years, 5 months and 2 days old. I’m on the smaller side of my breed, with red and white coat and a heterochromia (I’m not a creep okay, it’s normal!!!), which is a different color of eyes, in my case, ice blue for my left eye, and brown with a red rim for my right. All in all, I’m handsome, cool and hip!

Nommm, I enjoy food so much...

For my life’s story, it’s too long for one posting so keep following me and I’ll tell you! You can also find me on facebook by the name of Louie Sibe or on twitter as @louiethehusky

Well, thats about all I have to rant today, and I hope that none of you dozed in front of your screen!
